Who are you? I’m Lindsay and I teach Barre classes and Sculpt & Burn classes at Good Vibes. Born in Scotland, made in London, I am a professional dancer, actress & teacher who is passionate about health and well-being. Known affectionately by some clients as the ‘Smiling Assasin’!
Where did you train? I trained as a dancer and theatre performer at Bird College in London, graduating with a First Class BA(Hons) Degree. My fitness qualifications have been obtained through various accredited courses through Good Vibes. I am a firm believer that we never stop learning so I continue to train myself, learn from other instructors and take regular advanced courses to keep my skill set at the highest possible level.
How do you teach? I believe fitness and exercise should be for everyone, so I always try to create an exclusive and welcoming atmosphere, regardless of your current ability. My classes are always high energy with great music. Expect a creative twist on some of your old favourite exercises and lots of motivational imagery to get you through! Oh, and I LOVE core exercises so be prepared to work those abs!!
How will I feel after your class? Sweaty. Uplifted. Hungry for more classes with me!!
What do you do to keep fit? As a professional dancer, I am lucky that my job enables me to stay fit and active. I take regular dance classes in ballet, contemporary and jazz. I love vinyasa yoga, running and recently, I have started boxing and indoor rock climbing. I also try to maintain a healthy diet but life is all about balance so sometimes a glass of wine and slice of cake are good for the soul!
What rule do you live by? Be kind, be brave, live boldly and always give back. Oh, and don’t take yourself too seriously!
1 top tip to stay fit & healthy: Mental and emotional well being are as important as the physical so make sure to take time to nurture your mind as well as your body
