Happy Valentine's Day! It's a time to treat those we love, and we've got the perfect way to get your man's heart beating a little faster. Bring them along to try a Power Plate class! Read on for 5 reasons he should!
Up their game
Whether they favour cycling, football, running or skiing, adding in a class will increase their flexibility, strength and stamina in other sports. The full body workout means any extra pounds will soon be shed, improving speed and agility. Strength training is great for increasing bone density, muscle mass and connective tissue strength, meaning injuries from other sports will be much less likely.
Banish man flu
Regular exercise boosts the bodies production of macrophages, the cells that attack bacteria, increasing the bodies immune system, helping them fight off and recover faster from injury and illness. A high energy workout that gets them breathing heavily also helps to flush bacteria out of lungs and airways.
Get their heart beating
Our Power Plate classes may be a speedy 25 minutes, but the benefits pack a mighty punch. The cardiovascular improvements that come along with getting the heart rate elevated will lower blood pressure, decreasing the chances of heart disease and keeping the heart working at it's best, The increase in aerobic fitness will also lower cholesterol levels by keeping blood vessels pliable and open.
Keep them young
When regular exercise is combined with good nutrition choices, energy levels will increase, aches and pains will lessen and the body becomes stronger and more pliable, meaning your man will look and feel younger. The Power Plate is also great for improving balance because of the vibrating plate and our teachers mix up their exercise plans regularly, meaning their brain will get as much of a workout as their body. Great for finding focus and motivation before heading back to the office for the afternoon.
Boost his mood
Most people know at least some of the physical benefits of a consistent exercise plan, but more and more studies are looking at the effect it has on mood. Physical activity boosts the bodies levels of dopamine and serotonin, enhancing mood, focus and attention. Better overall muscle tone and weight loss are natural confidence boosters, and rising to and beating challenges in a workout, help to build bravery and self confidence in other areas.
Our Open Level and Conditioning classes are a great place for beginners to start. Check out the timetable here.
