I am not flexible enough
You don't need to be bendy to start yoga, you just need to be willing to give it a go. Over time your yoga practice will introduce mobility back into your life.
Its just for women
We all deserve the peace that yoga gives you, but did you know that yoga is influenced by martial arts?
If you fully focus on the present moment and use your body in an integrated way, yoga is an opening and releasing practice that will complement your other activities beautifully. Its no good having pumped up arms if you can't touch your toes!
I don't feel I'm doing very much
Learn the basics first, the foundation classes with Flo and James are a great place to start. These classes break down the poses every week so that you really get it. Or come join me on Saturday 3rd September for a fast track workshop to learn the bread and butter yoga poses, more details below.
If you take time at the beginning of your yoga journey to really understand the basics, you will use your body more efficiently in every class.
A regular yoga practice helps to quieten the mind, undoes the stresses of modern life, gets you in touch with your body, focuses the mind and improves mood and confidence. These sessions are designed to help you understand how to adjust the poses for your body and will encourage ease of movement as well as teach you how to use your body more efficiently and with ease. Are you looking to deepen your knowledge and practice of yoga? The Good Vibes Yoga 200 hour teacher training (accredited by the Yoga Alliance US) begins in April 2017 and is for those who wish to become excellent yoga teachers and who passionately care about the quality of their journey. With a primary focus on teaching mindful flow and restorative yoga for all bodies, applied anatomy and physiology, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and related subjects you will be guided every step of the way throughout the course and as you start your career as a yoga teacher.
Our course aims to produce intelligent, informed and nurturing teachers who want to share the joy and empowerment that a yoga lifestyle can bring, and you will have the opportunity to experience excellent and accessible teaching with a non-dogmatic approach from a second to none teaching faculty led by myself and Ruth McNeil with Uma Dinsmore Tuli, Gary Carter and Christopher Gladwell.
