Good Vibes Yoga Teacher Training 2017

Are you looking to deepen your knowledge and practice of yoga? Join us as we launch a teacher training course that will give you the opportunity to experience excellent and accessible teaching with a non-dogmatic approach from a second to none teaching faculty led by Good Vibes Founder and Director Nahid de Belgeonne and Ruth McNeil with Uma Dinsmore Tuli, Gary Carter and Christopher Gladwell.

The Good Vibes Yoga 200 hour teacher training (accredited by the Yoga Alliance US) begins in April 2017 and is for those who wish to become excellent yoga teachers and who passionately care about the quality of their journey. With a primary focus on teaching mindful flow and restorative yoga for all bodies, applied anatomy and physiology, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and related subjects you will be guided every step of the way throughout the course and as you start your career as a yoga teacher.

Our course aims to produce intelligent, informed and nurturing teachers who want to share the joy and empowerment that a yoga lifestyle can bring. The Good Vibes yoga teacher training is about making yoga for all bodies.

Spread over 12 months, our teacher training course will be held in central London in a fully equipped yoga studio. The course comprises one weekend a month with a 3 day weekend to end and is limited to a maximum of 20 students.

The Good Vibes as your yoga teacher training will:

  • develop the skills to understand and teach mindful flow yoga

  • give you the knowledge of how to teach yoga for a cross-range of populations and understand how to give appropriate modifications and adjustments

  • explore applied anatomy based on the most intelligent current movement thinking

  • teach you how ancient philosophy and wisdom can be shared and resonate with you and your students

  • discover the ways in which yoga is a deeply healing practice, with an emphasis on relaxation in balance to action

  • facilitate you to find your authentic voice as a teacher; the course encourages the individuality and creativity of the individual

  • invite you to become part of a yoga community; we will have a mentoring system in place and have yoga space to hire for your practice, student classes and discounts on our classes at both studios and opportunities post training to teach at our studios

  • teach you how to run and promote your yoga business within a competitive marketplace

The day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 6pm on most days but sometimes the day goes on to 8pm. The last weekend includes Friday evening through to Sunday evening.

The fee is £3,995 with a 10% early bird discount if paid in full by 31st October 2016.  Fees must be paid in full one month before the start of the course.

Meet the teachers

Nahid de Belgeonne is passionate about sharing the healing benefits of yoga. She has been practising for 16 years and trained with The Yoga Academy in 2010, a BWY accredited teacher. She teaches hatha flow and yoga nidra, and is a registered restorative yoga teacher trained by Judith Hanson Lasater and Simon Low. Her classes are influenced by a range of movement disciplines, her teaching is intelligently sequenced and creative. She continues to learn with master teachers and is the Yoga expert for UK Women's Health and Aveda UK.

Ruth McNeil is a lifelong yoga practitioner and an experienced British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher.
Ruth trained at the Yoga Academy, Kent and in addition has completed a restorative and yin yoga intensive with Simon Low. Pilates has become integral to her own practice and Ruth is a qualified Pilates teacher with the leaders in intelligent movement and rehabilitation, Polestar Pilates UK. Ruth teaches vinyasa flow, restorative yoga and mat Pilates and is passionate about sharing these holistic movement modalities with you. It has been Ruth’s experience that these practices develop our ability to experience life fully, with strength, ease, gratitude, joy and compassion.

Uma Dinsmore Tuli was first introduced to yoga at the age of four by her mother and began meditating at nine on a pilgrimage with her maternal grandmother. Yoga and meditation have been part of her daily life ever since. After completing the Yoga Biomedical Trust Diploma in Yoga Therapy in 1999, Uma has continued to find the fully integrated approach of yoga therapy to be the most practical route to the healing power of yoga. She further trained in Structural Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy with Mukunda Stiles, and works as a yoga therapist with special expertise in women’s health. Uma has a PhD in Communications and is a recognised teacher of the British Wheel of Yoga. 

Gary Carter has been teaching for 20 years in personal training, physical awareness and yoga. He is also a practitioner in Structural Integration, Cranio-Sacral therapy, Shiatsu and Nutritional Therapy. He studied yoga with Mary Stewart and Sophy Hoare and after a brief meeting with Vanda Scaravelli, he now studies with Diane Long in Florence and Rome whilst continuously developing his own practice and teachings.

With a keen feeling and study for the nature of Fascia he met and studied with Thomas Myers in Structural Integration and the ‘Anatomy Trains’ theory in 1998 and has co taught with him in the USA and UK which has led Gary to deepen his explorations in taking the understandings of complete functional integration into many practices. Gary has been teaching Anatomy and Movement for over 14 years to Yoga, Pilates, Gyrotonic, and Massage schools in the UK and Europe along with Athletes and Personal Trainers. He has studied dissection at the Institute of Anatomy in Vienna and now runs The Yoga & Anatomy training course all over the UK ,Ireland and Scotland. He is also principal lecturer in the “Science of Movement and Anatomy” on the Dance Sciences Degree course at Middlesex University.

Christopher Gladwell has been practising and teaching yoga for over thirty years and is passionate about the practice and where it takes us to within ourselves. His own journey has been extensive practice and study including Yoga Nidra study with the Satyananda School of Yoga (12 years) and the Ashtanga Vinyasa system of Krishnamacharya and Sri K Pattabhi Jois (12 years) as well as other systems such as Iyengar yoga, Oki yoga, Vini yoga and Chi Kung.

Christopher has also explored traditional and new Tantra, and for the last nine years I has been involved in explorations of the Vajrayana teachings of Tibet as well as Shamanic traditions mostly rooted in Native American teachings. He has studied physical therapies, primarily Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Intuitive Massage and Structural Integration, all of which informs the hands-on facilitation work in his yoga teaching.

Please note: you should have been practising yoga for at least 2 years and we will need 2 references and you should have the time and the focus to commit to this intensive 1 year teacher training. There will be assessed homework and course projects throughout the year as well as final exams and teaching assessments.
