Hanro, the luxury day, night and loungewear specialists, launched their new yoga collection with a bespoke restorative yoga class led by  Nahid de Belgeonne, Founder and Director of Good Vibes.

The Hanro Yoga range includes: a sport racer back tank top; short sleeved shirt; a long sleeve shirt; long yoga pant and a 3/4 yoga pant.   All  created in micromodal with elastane offering comfort and ease of movement and available in classic taupe, grey and black.

Nahid says, " I love to practice without being hindered by the clothes I am wearing, which is why the elegant new Hanro yoga wear is perfect. The fabric feels good against the skin with no seams digging into you, which is important as your skin is a conduit to your nervous system."

Hanro Yoga will be available in stores from August 2015.

If you sit down all day, you might want to take a look at your behind.

A study published in the American Journal of Physiology, found that if you put force on the same part of the body on a regular basis for long periods of time, it increases lipid fat production. Even those with a regular exercise habit are at risk of weight gain if they spend long periods of time sitting down.

What can you do? Move more at regular intervals. AND add Power Plate classes to your routine. They work almost every single muscle fibre in the body and because you stand on the vibrating platform while performing exercises, a sure fire way to switch  on your glutes.

A Power Plate session will break down fat cells, improve circulation, flexibility and metabolism and reduce the time you need to spend exercising – a full body workout is a speedy 25 minutes.

Reflexology and the Menopause

Reflexology is a wonderful therapy for aiding our journey through the menopause.

Stimulation to the pituitary gland , hypothalamus and thymus will help regulate the peripheral nervous system. Working the adrenal glands and thyroid helps to release tension in the endocrine system which is undergoing major changes, much like our bodies experience during puberty.

One of the biggest problems I encounter with my menopausal clients is low self esteem , if you think about the changes they are experiencing within the body. Hot flushes, night sweats, loss of libido, sudden weight gain and short term memory loss it comes as no surprise that they develop feelings of inadequacy. I often advise my clients to look at the other factors that can play a part, such as diet.

As our bodies age our metabolism slows down,  so we need to adjust our diet accordingly cutting down or out processed foods and red meats , adding more seeds, pulses and soya into our diets. Golden linseeds and sage tea are miracle workers for those hot flushes. Also we need to add exercise to our daily routines to keep our muscular and skeletal systems from deteriorating. Working the digestive system and spine reflexes also helps regulate the body .  Remember the menopause is a new time for regenerating , 50 is the new 30 so they say !

Spring is a great time to kick start your mind and body. Our London half day retreat will not only refocus the mind, but will also sculpt the body, and introduce long-term healthy habits.

Calm the mind and the body will follow,  this workshop offers a holistic approach to your fitness. We kick off with popular Good Vibes teacher, Antonia, who take you through dance and Pilates conditioning exercises designed to get results. Designed to sculpt your core, lift your glutes and work those legs, as well as rev up your metabolism.

The second half is led by Good Vibes Founder, Nahid. She will take you through 2 hours of restorative yoga, designed to help you find a deep sense of release and relaxation in your body. The session will end with a bespoke 20 minute Yoga Nidra for setting positive affirmations, to cultivate a deeper awareness of your body.
